Indoor Rock Crawling; Event #2- February 15th

The second indoor crawler competition is upon us! Brought to you by Anchorage House of Hobbies, Anchor Design and Hobbycraft.

Bring your 1.9 and 2.2 crawlers! Same location as last time. Sign-Ups are at 10AM. Tre Harmon is our current points leader. I will be taking $20 donations if you'd like him to have an "unfortunate accident" :)

Indoor Rock Crawling; Season Opener - Jan. 24th - High Noon

It's time to beat the winter blues and bring your crawler to our Winter Season Opener presented by AKRCC, RPP Hobby, Dinky R/C, JP Custom R/Cs, RCBros.Com and Anchorage House of Hobbies. The focus will be 1.9 class competition, but if you don't have one, bring your 2.2 for the free-crawl afterwards. Novices are encouraged to attend. Don't have a crawler? Come check it out and take one for a test drive. You'd be surprised how fun it is to go so slow.

The competition will be taking place in a super secret location (202 E 26th Avenue; the warehouse located below AA-K Business Environments).

Toys For Tots Charity Race - Dec. 7th @ 12pm

Thanks to Rocky, we have access to 5000 sq ft of space at the Anchorage Hilton Hotel on Sunday, December 7th at noon until whenever. In lieu of our usual $15 entry fee, we are asking everyone to bring an unwrapped toy. You may also pay the normal $15 or any cash donation you choose, but we'd prefer the toys. After the event, I will be donating all proceeds to the Marines Toys for Tots Foundation.

Classes:

  • 1/10 Scale Stock Touring (Maybe Mod)
  • 1/12 Pan Car
  • 1/18 scale minis
  • Slashes (maybe)
  • 1/12 Spec Touring
Assume that this will be a rubber tire event. I haven't seen the room, so I don't know if traction compound will be feasible. That could cancel out running 1/12 pan. If we can't run 1/12 pan, we could run 1/12 scale touring, so if you have one of those, bring it. This is gonna be alot of fun. Novices/new racers are encouraged to attend.

Alaska Championship Series Final

Alaska Championship Series Race #2
The final round of the Alaska State Championship Series wrapped up about 2 weeks ago and I finally got all the RESULTS tallied up. It was alot closer than I thought it would be. Close enough that I had to triple-check the results to make sure I counted everyone right. A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO BRUCE AND DENNIS!

Alaska State Rock Crawling Championships

The grand finale of the crawling season is upon us! Saturday will be the actual comp and Sunday we'll just be a "fun run" so bring whatever you got; Comp 2.2s, scalers, Supers, whatever. We've got a ton of sponsors, so there should be some nice scwag to be given away, KTVA will be there to cover the event, free BBQ, all kinds of cool stuff. More details here.

Round 3 of the Alaska Championship Series

Alaska Championship Series Race #2

It's that time again. Round #3 of the ACS will be underway this weekend, August 30th and 31st. It should be a helluva good time. We will be needing some help on Friday, so if you're bored come on down and grab a shovel! Weeeeee!

Race Results

Uploaded results for the past three weeks. AMB recently changed the formatting for race results, so it's a little cryptic. I'm working on figuring out the new software to get the results a little more organized, but it will take some time. So until then, you'll just have to get out your decoder ring and decypher them yourself...

Round 2 of the Alaska Championship Series

Round 2 of the Alaska Championship Series is scheduled for this upcoming weekend; August 2nd & 3rd. This is a 2-day event featuring racers from across the state. We will be running the usual 1/8 scale buggies and truggies and most likely a 1/10 open stadium truck class (nitro/electric). Novices are encouraged to attend. If you've never raced and you have a 1/10 scale electric or 1/10 scale gas vehicle, feel free to come participate. First time racers race for FREE. Entry fee is $15 for your first entry and $5 for each additional entry. Race fees for 1/10 scale class will only be $10 unless it's your first race, of course.

We have been working steadily on the track to get it prepared for this weekend with a new layout and, weather permitting, we will be adding some new jumps as well.

July 26th Race Results

Crawler Competitions

Congratulations to these guys and thanks to Rocky for putting this thing on. It was run smooth and everyone had a great time. And for the record, a week before this, we ran into Patrick at McHugh and his rig would even run forward and then he turns it all around and manages to pull out a win.
